Hand Pollinator Experiment
This week, we read in our text that many plants need pollen from other plants to make seeds. Some plants depend on bees to move the pollen from flower to flower.
For this experiment, the students acted as engineers to design a tool for pollinating a flower by hand. They built their hand pollinator and test it on a model of a flower. The students had to look at all the different materials their team could use to design your hand pollinator. They discussed the following with their team:
The students are becoming experts on the iPad app, Book Creator and created the slides themselves! I could not be more proud of the teamwork and collaboration that was shown! They even did their own videotaping!
Below, you can watch each groups video! Enjoy!

They discussed the following with their team:
- What materials would be best to use to pick up pollen?
- What materials would be best to carry the pollen from one flower to another flower?
- Will you need a handle for your pollinator? What materials could you use for a handle?
